How to Find the Right Education for your Future Life

How to Find the Right Education

How to Find the Right Education for your Future Life

Table of Contents

How many people don’t think that the only way to get a suitable education for their future career is by going to university or college? A fair few of us.

Though I am certainly not against university or further education, it is not suitable for everyone, and can end up simply being a massive waste of time and money.

You need to become aware of not only what you want to do with your life, but also the ways that are available for you to educate yourself in order to achieve those aims. Some of those methods will be traditional, others will not be.

The important thing is that you are fully aware of all the options available to you.

That is why I have laid out a small roadmap for you showing all those new possibilities. By all means, if university or college is your way to go, then go for it.

This here is meant to speak for those who are not in that boat and to show them there are many more options in life than what are usually pointed out to us.

1. Online Courses

Online Courses:

Search the internet for online courses in your field of interest.

It is good to find a professional who successfully made it into the career you want to have, to see what path, or what qualifications they took.

Choose selectively, look them up and see what they have accomplished in their career. A huge advance of online courses is that you can select your teacher and get a chance to learn from true masters from across the world.

There are also some amazing education websites who offer online classes.

Here are a few to check out!

1. CreativeLive

CreativeLive offers courses in Photo & Video, Art & Design, Music & Audio, Craft & Maker and Money & Design.

2. Skillshare

Skillshare offers courses in Design, Photography, Business, Film, Technology, Fashion, Music, Gaming, Culinary, Writing and more!

3. Udemy

Udemy is an online learning and teaching marketplace with over 130000 courses and 35 million students.

2. YouTube

YouTube Channel:

YouTube is a fantastic platform for education.

Within any field of interest there are channels to be found that can teach you about the subject you are trying to learn.

Simply type in the topic in the search bar and select the YouTube Channel for you.

– Nail Career: If you want to get into nails (like I said, I did a quick random search to show how easy it is), this channel – given by a professional nail technical, covers everything about the craft of designing gorgeous nails.

– CrashCourse: A channel given by professional professors that covers Anatomy, Physiology, Astronomy, Government, Politics and Economics.

If you are more of a visual person, the use of learning through video is an excellent way to learn. Also, most of the time it’s done in a much more fun way than school.

3. Podcasts

Podcasts:

There are millions of amazing podcasts out there.

Find the one in your niche! The Tim Ferris Show for instance is an superb podcast where Tim, the interviewer, deconstructs world class performances.

Go through his list of interviews and search for one that is relevant to what you want to learn. While listening, simply take your notebook or phone and write down all the valuable information.

4. Books

Books:

There are shelves and shelves of books written by successful people who have made billions of dollars in their careers.

These books allow you to gain their experience, techniques and knowledge for a small price.

Buy them! And if you don’t like reading, well, simply buy the audio book.

Here is a great tip, and it’s what I do all the time: take a flashy marker and highlight the most important points in the book.

After you finish the book, go through the pages again and write those pieces onto a word document. If you’re listening to an audio book, do the same, but write it down in your phone or on a notebook.

5. Find a Mentor

Find a Mentor:

The internet has given us the possibility to get in contact with just about everyone and anyone!

Find people who are doing what you want to do and send them an email or give them a call.

Tell them who you are what you want to become and let them know what value you can give to them.

Make them an offer to work completely for free for them. In return, you have the chance to learn about the craft and get to work closely with someone who has already made a success of their career.

This isn’t as easy as simply buying a book or downloading a podcast. This requires a well thought-out email and you need to come up with some real value that you can offer this other person.

Recognize what you have to offer and don’t give up on the first email you get a “no”, or no response at all from.

6. Long Term Traveling

Long Term Traveling:

Long term traveling taught me so many things that it would be ridiculous not to include it on here.

Traveling taught me to communicate with people from all backgrounds, beliefs and cultures.

It taught me compassion, how to be independent, to take action, to find my own voice and to use it to speak up for myself. It broadened my mind, taught me about the world and allowed me to see who I truly am deep inside.

While I can’t say for which specific job you should go and travel, I believe that traveling can teach something valuable to everyone, no matter what profession they want to do.

Look within yourself and ask yourself honestly what you want to be. Throw away the idea that school is the only way to get educated. Anything can educate you. Understand this and look through all the possibilities. Choose the path which is going to get you closest to your career – your future life.
