Story of a Nomad – How Nature is an Alternative Health Method For Healing
There is something about nature, something very powerful, something very real. I bet you can recall a moment when you have been in a forest, or somewhere surrounded by greenery and have felt a certain sensation of life flowing through your body. The reason? Nature is an alternative health source.
The world is alive, and just as we humans draw energy from connection with other human beings, so we do too from this world. We draw energy from it, and we do so by connecting and surrounding ourselves with nature.
Anyone who has ever walked through a forest can’t deny they didn’t feel amazing, after taking a couple of deep breaths and just being engulfed by its splendor.
Nature heals and connects us to our core roots and instincts, and scientific research has shown over and over again the benefits of spending more time in nature.
Again, nature is a successful form of alternative health healing, but even away from the research, I can tell you, out of my own personal experience, that if you feel unhappy, sick or depressed, spend more time in nature and you’ll be amazed by the changes that this world can do for you – once you open yourself up to it.
It is a huge shame how few of us take the time to venture out there into this green and verdant world of ours. A couple of months ago I teamed up with the very talented filmmaker Reinout Arents to work on a short movie called “Story of a Nomad”.
With this short movie, we wanted to emphasize the beauty of this world and what being out there within it can do for you.
For a long time in my own life I saw the world as a boring and dull place. Colorless, tasteless, worthless. It was only when I started traveling, when I started spending more time in nature, that an enormous change happened within me.
Seeing the pure rough beauty this world holds for each and every one of us, it made me feel something, something I was lacking enormously – amazement.
Something I today see lacking in many other people’s lives, and having the same kind of effects on them as it had on me – no energy, unhappiness, depression… feelings that arise from that lack of amazement and wonder about life and about this world.
We live in a truly amazing world, it really is. It is filled with some of the most stunning scenery, landscapes, sunsets, sunrises any world could ever create. But you need to venture out there to see it, you need to venture out there to feel it.
And I try to “promote” traveling, and being in nature as an alternative health method as much as I can, through my photos, through my articles and through short movies like this one, for the simple reason that I know it’s a cure more people could benefit from.
